This laptop from Acer was a similar laptop being both the Acer Aspire 5750Z as well as the Acer Aspire 5750G to another laptop from that year being the Acer Aspire 5749 which is also on this website. These laptops also came with only a Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating system but they also came with the exact same design and also available in only one singular colour – black.
I have been unable to boot Linux from a USB on my acer aspire 5750G laptop It goes through the boot and then freezes half way through. It has done this with every type of Linux I have tried. Before anyone asks I have tried every single one of these boots on my desktop computer and they work perfectly every time. Then go to control panel - add sources - proprietary drivers, there is. PS don't use the PPA ubuntu-x-swat if I don't know why you need it, and how,.
Its still a very good laptop however if you are looking for other options then look at the version which had been released that year. Note that Acer still continued the ‘turbo boost’ option on this laptop as they had with many in that year. The software below are the latest from the Acer mirror for this laptop/notebook. Also note that most files are both 32bit as well as 64bit all in the same downloadable file.
Windows 7
Windows 8

I'm getting tired of Windows always crashing, but hte problem with Linux for me is that I can never find out how to install stuff and it drives me nuts. I currently use the Aspire 5750G laptop for my main computer and I have recently installed Linux Mint on it. So far I am really enjoying it. I have everything up to do and all is well. The only problem is that I can't seem to find out how to install my graphics card so that I can play online games. I need the Intel HD 3000 driver I believe, which I found here; http://intellinuxgraphics.org/2012.02.html , I don't know what one I'm supposed to download though... I also need the Nvidia driver aswell. Also, I couldn't install them with the additional drivers feature found in my system settings. It was there originally, then I tried to install it, and it felt very unresposnive, so I waited, and it closed, and now the list is empty. I'd be greatful for any help that isn't 'rtfm' or 'use the search button,' thanks. -Ottaxik Comments are closed.
